Good eye! That belongs to my 1970 455 block. This engine was missing the harmonic balancer and timing cover. The engine and bell housing are both the original gold. That balancer is blue.

Crank & Cylinders

Engine appears to be as advertised! Relatively low mileage 116k, we are gonna mic everything and confirm. Cam has casting number of 389410 7 CFD with a 104 in yellow on the end. Are the castings generic to multiple grinds?

Update

Finally found some more time to get back to my car. The Frame goes to the powdercoater in the next few weeks. In the mean time I pulled the T-10 out from its hiding place and started some research. Does anyone have an idea of what kind of car this T-10 came out of. All the info I can find says they were discontinued in '63 but the date stamps are clearly 64....
There is also stenciled yellow letters on the side *4" tall maybe KT Any idea what these mean?

Main Case (cast iron) – T10-1B W.G. Div W-1 (Date code stamp WL-1942) Near as I can tell = Borg Warner (November 19, 1964 Shift 2)

Tail Case (Aluminum) – T10-7D W.G. DIV R1 (Date Stamp – 10-19-64) 27 Spline Output

Tail Housing VIN Stamp – 5Z106016 (No idea)

9 Bolt Side Cover (Aluminum) – T10-148B W.G. Div (Date Code 7/64)

Hurst Competition Plus – 3915403G (No Idea)

Input Shaft – T89B-6 (10 Spline Input (1-Groove))

T-10 parts were available over the counter for years after the quit putting them in GM cars. Not unusual for parts to have 1964 build dates

That's what I'm finding out. I did however discover that Buick used the T-10's up until 1965. The mystery seems to stem from the Vin derivative that is stamped into the tailhousing... I guess this isn't a common practice or even practiced....

Firewall, steering wheel and electrical stripped from the car. I've got four more body mounts to remove and then the body comes up. Lots of factory dimples to deal with on the firewall. Any advice for the finished look? I saw a video of a guy masking off a 1-inch wide seam and then globbing the sealer on it and pulling up the tape. leaving a decent looking seam without the ugly grooves.... Also a shot of the factory rally gauge wiring harness. Surprisingly it is in good shape. so far all the wiring circuits are intact.

Black plastic inner fenders

I found some black plastic inner fenders out of a 67 Vista cruiser and I'm wondering if anybody knows how to repair small holes in these. I think they will add some coolness to my car. They are factory plastic with a small 67 raised mark
