1958 Super 88 4 door hardtop
Hello . I bought this beautiful car to play with. There is a lot of work on it, but it is my biggest hobby. I will be very happy if you help me with advice. I can't take out the dashboard. Don't you have a picture where the screws are everywhere? Isn't it welded on the side of the window?

Welcome!!! More pictures, please. The 58 was/is affectionally know as a Chromemobile . You have some work to do, obviously. In answer to your specific question, the dashboard/ speedometer cluster should not be welded to anything. Unless someone did that sometime later. anything could have happened in the last 62 years.

Today, the body was finally removed from the frame. Unfortunately, it did not work without the use of autogen. I had to cut the screws on the rear bumper. I was still surprised by the left thread on the wheel nuts on the left side.
I'm so glad that my 16-year-old son is helping me with that. I wouldn't be so fast without him. It caught him and he spent the afternoons and evenings with me in the garage.
Now I will make a frame under the body, have it sandblasted and start boiling. In the meantime, I'll start disassembling the engine.

So far, I'm not sure which way to go. I'll definitely adjust it a bit. First I have to repair the body and the engine and then they'll see. To give you an idea, I am sending a photo of my previous project.

Happy New Year to everyone.I am adding a few photos as I proceed with the renovation.Couldn't the history of this car be traced according to the number of guilt?or will any of you remember? It was supposed to be sold about 4-5 years ago in Burlington, NC.

They're sort of Oldsmobile's version of the Edsel. But, if painted black, the gaudy back end's chrome trim could be best harmonized:
