'69 442 headlight switch

'69 442 headlight switch

Guys - how does the **** come off the headlight switch? I have the dash out of the car--cant seem to figure it out

Any guidance would be appreciated before i break it..

Pull the **** as far out as it will go. Now press the spring-loaded button on the light switch and simultaneously pull the **** the rest of the way out.

Thanks Joe! I was pushing that button but probably not pulling it apart to hard.

There's a trick to this. You must put the **** in the "headlights on" position and let go, do not pull on it at this time. Now press the button, THEN pull the **** out the rest of the way. If you pull on the **** while you press the button, it often won't release fully and you can't get the **** out.
