58 super 88 headlight switch and windscreen wiper switch removal

Hi all, does anyone know how to remove the above items? I have stripped the dash completely but the above are stopping further progress. I have removed the wipersand wiper actuator and disconnected the cable at the actuator end. The headlight switch has me beat. Any help would be very much appreciated

There is a spring loaded button on the side of the switch behind the dash. Push it in and the **** and shaft will slide out. Then you can remove the nut, and drop it down.

I am replacing the headlight switch on my 70 Cutlass and I push the spring in with the light switch at the off (in) position but the shaft won't come out. Worst case might be to break the **** off the shaft and remove the switch, requires buying a new shaft/****. Any thoughts?

You have to pull the **** to the headlights on position, push the button, and the pull the ****/shaft out. Best to do with the battery disconnected.
