The passenger side vent window regulator on my 69 wagon has issues (excessive backlash and sticking). I suspect the pot metal housing is distorted or cracked, as I've seen this before, but no, I haven't looked at it yet. I have a pair of post coupe doors that I could scavenge the regulator from, but in checking the parts book, the P/Ns are different.
For 68-69, all 31xx/32xx models (F85 Club Coupe and Town Sedan), all Cutlass four doors, and all wagons EXCEPT Vista use regulators 7771368/69.
All other 68-69 A-body models with vent windows (INCLUDING Vistas and Cutlass Supreme Town Sedans) use regulators 7719731/32.
All 1970-72 A-body models with vent windows (including flattop wagons and Vistas) also use regulators 7719731/32
WTF?!?!
Town Sedans, Vistas, and flattop wagons all use the same front door shells. All 68-72 Town Sedans, Vistas, and flattop wagons use the same vent window assemblies (I checked, part numbers are the same). How in the heck can the regulator be different?
That or different range of motion are all I could think of, but why? Do Supreme and Vista buyers get more airflow than buyers of bottom-feeder cars? I guess now I'll have to compare the one in the wagon with the one I have from a Sports Coupe and figure out the difference.
Maybe a different inside door panel.
With a longer or shorter shaft, to accommodate it?
Please let us know when you compare them.
Looks like 4 door sedans both "Holiday" and "Town" will also fit your wagon.
It shouldn't be too hard to find.
