Front Seat Belt Removal - 1978 Bucket Seats

I need to remove the front bucket seats from my 1978 Holiday 88

I know these plastics are old and can be brittle…. Sooooooo…… Before I break anything, can someone PLEASE advise on how to take the plastic pieces apart on the headrest and the plastic cover off on the floor.

Thanks. I’ve attached photos for reference

I'd use a set of gentle pry tools.

Yes, you gently pry that center plug out and then pry out the clip. Yes, it will probably fracture because of age.
I have a '78 Toronado, and this clip is on the top of the headrest. But I'm guessing it's otherwise similar. Here's what it looks like underneath once you pry out the plug and clip. The base is removed by removing two screws.

Functional replacement clips can be bought new if you do end up breaking yours. They're black, but you can paint them. They use a screw instead of push-in clip, but you might be able to make the clip work.

About $11 at Amazon.
