New Rear Convert. Seat Foam

Hey Fellow Olds Interior Guru's, need some help!

Trying to find a supplier who has new correct size 68 Olds 442 Convertible rear seat upper and lower foam pieces to redo my seats...I believe the approx. width is 45" for the convertibles, whereas the Hardtop/Coupes are 52" or 55". My foam has gone hard and brittle, every time I touch the seat, I get a fine dust / powder all over my carpet. Grrrrrrr.
I do see listings for Coupe rear seat foam, but not Convertibles....
Any help or name of a supplier who has this would be of great help.

Regards Rag Man

I don't know neither how finicky you want/need to be, nor how OCD you are on this & I have no idea of availability & shipping but................with that said, when I redid the upper and lower seats in my '71 CS convertible, I bought a couple battens of seat foam from Michael's. I can't recall what thickness I used - it may or may not have been 2". Anyways, something to consider. Just cut it to fit.

Thanks Norm
I was wondering if that's what I may end up having to do, something like that!
The info and link is much appreciated. Glad you related what you did, and that it worked for you...
Awesome Thanks Again!

Reiner - It's a crap shoot knowing what type of foam they used in a '68 442 compared to my '71 CS & whether each plant used the same material. I really didn't feel much like paying ~$350 for foam padding from an automotive supplier for something I was pretty sure I could handle on my own. Good Luck!

Thanks for the kind words, but I've gotten out of the seat business, with the exception of some local projects... I do still have lots of seats spring I can sell by the foot or roll or make custom repair springs from, but the rest of the materials I've stopped stocking.

Albright's supply was my primary source for most things included in those seat kits, and they sell to the general public and have free shipping if you buy $150 or more in an order. They sell high quality automotive grade sheet foam (the stuff at Michaels is not). The 2" sheets of 55lb resistance foam is what I used for back seats. Warning it is stiff and challenging to work with if you have never done it before, but the seats always came out looking and feeling great, including in my own 68.

Hope this helps!
Ben

I used the 55lb foam for my back seat, need to use the zip tie trick to stretch the covers but came out good imho
