Steering wheel center removal on a '65?

Can't remember if I posted this in another section or not. Anyway is there a trick to getting the center metal piece off the steering wheel on a mid 60's F-85? I removed the two screws but it doesn't budge at all and I don't want to bend it prying and pulling. Does the center hub need to come off first or something? Even that doesn't really move. I need to get the wheel off to tighten up the signal lever and shifter bowl.

If it's like my '67s, the center ornament is held on with spring tabs and just pulls off. Grab it around the sides and rock it a bit to loosen it, then give it a good yank straight out.

Hmm will try that. I'm on needles and pins because that metal piece is anodized aluminum and I know how easily that scratches.

The round center cap twists off counter clock-wise, then you'll have 3 screws to remove the horn bar.

it has 3 tabs that lock it in place, as mentioned twist 1/4 turn, then it should pull straight out.
