removal of center cap on steering wheel

I need to know how to remove the steering wheel center cap on my 1961 98. I think most 61's had the same steering wheel? I have attached a few pics. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I'm not for sure, but normally I'd expect to push down on the center cap and turn it to the left until it disengages. Then the ring portion would be head down by screws under the cap. That's kind of standard for that type of wheel.

It may also be held in place by spring clips, or prongs. A little, gentle probing with a small screwdriver may indicate how it is attached?

Service manual, section 4-30 says to carefully pry cap away from wheel for custom wheel. I believe that is what you have. My 65 pried off, and I was scared I would break it, but it came free.
Service manual is available FREE if you register at wildaboutcars.com Suggest you check it out, I do not want to be at fault if you break it.
Look in steering section

Thanks guys, the cap is already loose and lifting a bit. I did check out the service manual on wildaboutcars, but I was looking in the wrong section. Thanks again.
