Scat ProCar 90 seat mounts

I’m getting close to installing a set of ProCar 90 buckets in my ‘72 Cutlass. In all my research online I have read several reviews of people installing these seats in A-bodies and reporting that they sit too high. They report having to cut down and reweld the ProCar mounting brackets to get them lower. Some people say they skip the mounting brackets and just make their own brackets out of angle iron or something to get the seats lower.

so my plan was to just buy the seats and make my own brackets. But today I talked to a rep at Scat who told me they haven’t had any reports of the seats being too high.

the mounting brackets they sell would certainly make the installation a lot easier, but I hate to waste a couple hundred bucks on them if they do in fact sit too high.

anyone here have experience installing these seats in their Cutlass and can comment on the height issue?

thank you

I use them. I lowered the seat because I'm 6'4". Having the bracket just made a nice starting point, but they certainly aren't complicated.

Did you end up cutting/welding the bracket to lower them?

Thumbs up

I'm 5'10" & chunky and fit very well in my 64 F85 using the ProCar 90 seats.. I drive the car quite a lot and the seats are pretty comfy..

I used the factory mounts that came with the seats.
