Question 1969 Olds replacing bench with bucket seats

Hey everyone in the Oldsmobile community.

I have a question I am sure someone can answer.
I have a 1969 Olds Cutlass convertible with the original bench seat. I am exploring replacing the bench with bucket seats.
So far, the websites I've found have the buckets at nearly $900 and other website are out of stock on the seats. Would like to find something a little less expensive and available.

My question is, what bucket seats from something, even a later model anything, would fit in the Cutlass with a minimum of alteration to the floor and fit the space?

I don't mind doing the work to make something that looks like it belongs there work, I would like to know what would need to happen.
I've seen pictures of a 1979 Hurst Olds and those seats appear to would work. I do plan to have an original console, or would consider a console from something else, and move the shifter from the column to the console.
Anyone ever done this swap or have any ideas of bucket seats or console from what car I should be looking for?

I appreciate any help from anyone who reads this. Thank you.

There are weld in brackets available to convert to bucket seats. The bench seat uses only two brackets to attach it to the floor, bench seats have two brackets each. Unless you are adept at welding the brackets to the sheet metal floor, you will have to take it to a shop capable of doing this. Also research the brackets, there are two types on the market. One set is junk, the other set is OK but require some finess to get them to fit the floor.

okay. Thank you for the info on the seat brackets. I do have a shop close by who can do the welding if need be. I will be on the look out for the seat brackets.

Procar offers some seats that might work for you. Unfortunetly the strato buckets that came in our cars originally (along w skylarks chevelles and lemans) command some $$$. Every so often you might find a set that needs love for not a lot of dollars but after foam springs tracks and covers your still looking at a fair amount of change.

others have adapted late model car seats to there rides but it usually requires some fab work and trial and error to set them up nicely
