On/off switch, what is it for?

On the drivers side in our 63 f-85 convertible there is a switch above the hood-switch.It says On/Off.We can`t find out what units get insertet by that beautyful round, cromed ,original seeming knop.It works by turning left/right.
It looks similar to the hood switch.Would one of you please tell me the purpose.

Thank you,Claudia&Martin

Going by the 1963 shop book illustrations, it controls the underdash courtesy lamps at either end of the dash. Does it have a squarish bezel with one corner rounded off? just to left of the heater controls?

I had to stop and think what a hood switch was. Then I remembered you're in Europe, and it is the convertible top switch.
