Best place for cut-off switch? (1970 Cutlass)
Hi Folks,
What wire would be the best to splice for a push button cut-off I want to install under my dash. I understand this wouldn't prevent someone knowledgeable from starting the car but I simply want to make it a little more difficult for them.
I assumed the purple wire going to the starter but you may have a better idea?
I'm also going to do a hood lock.
Thanks,
James

I usually use a battery kill switch under the hood, they work great when your car is being parked for long periods.
For cars that get driven more then once a weekend it's a pain in the butt popping the hood everytime you wanna go somewhere.
I like tapping into the power to the coil or HEI. That way the car still cranks but won't fire. If someone's messing with your car and tries to fire it up you'll hear it!
It's also great for when you're working under the hood and need to bump the engine over without it firing.
