Headrest covers

So I got my new headrest covers for my 1970 Supreme from Legendary and they are not the same. They do not have the raised seam around the front of the headrest. Bucket Seats. When you stretch the new ines over you can see the ridges on the originals. Has anyone ever dealt with this?

What is wrong w/your original bucket seat headrests? Cracked? Merely faded some?
What color are your original bucket headrests?

Original are faded and I'm changing over from a blue interior to black.

I would clean/prep the original headrests and paint them w/one of the SEM Vinyl/Plastic Paint products. Sure, you'll be spending some more $ (can of adhesion promoter and a can of SEM paint....something like Landau Black) but you won't have those ugly vinyl covers on your headrests.

Shop around on the paints......prices for something like Bulldog Adhesion Promoter (15 0z spray can) vary quite a bit on the internet and the stuff has gone up in price a bit.

You can also buy new plastic "filler panels" for the underside of the bucket seat headrests.....in white or black.....if yours are bad or missing. The Parts Place, among others, sells them.

Also - I wouldn't consider using any of the repro bucket seat headrests. They are pretty bad.
