Gloss or satin

I have a question about my black 1969 442 dash. I prepped the lower dash metal and steering column for paint. Was this originally a gloss or satin? TIA

IMO the paint would not be gloss. A satin or semi gloss.

The PPG color catalog pages for '69 indicate a semi-gloss finish on the lower dash metal....

I can't think of anything other than wheel and body exterior paint that was gloss.

Olds used both satin and flat finishes in the interior. The upper part of the dash below the windshield was flat to prevent reflections. Pretty much the rest of the interior was satin. The paint tables in Section 0 of the Product Information Manual (aka Assembly Manual) document this and provide the (then) paint formula codes.
