Fasten seat belt

today i purchased a worn but loaded 72 442. it has what appears to be a "fasten seat belt" warning mounted on top of the dash pad. It looks factory. Could it be? or is it an added by someone up the line from me. thanks

On '72 & one or two? of the later years, if you had the rally pack(tach & gauges) the fasten seat belt light/lens was moved to that piece on the dash. I would assume that there was not room for it in the rally pack due to the gauges like there would be with just a gas gauge. So, your car probably came with the rally pack from the factory weather it's still there or not.

Yep, I agree with Scott. I've seen them on 1972's through 1975, not sure about other years. Your 1972 should also have buzzers for the seat belts, I believe that was the first year for that too. John
