Duct Hoses

Does anybody know where to get replacement rectangle duct pieces for the drivers side and passenger side air vents? I have looked a lot of different places but I am not finding the rectangle duct pieces. I have all of the dash vents, the center duct my vent screws into has a broken tab on one side which seems to be pretty common, looking for a replacement for that. The other pieces I am looking for are the rectangle duct behind the dash on the driver and passenger side, these become brittle and deteriorate which is what has happened with mine, I was looking for reproductions but it appears nobody makes the rectangle duct, maybe i can find a usable used set but I understand these can be brittle pieces, still looking. I am also looking into adapters I know vintage air sells some but not sure what all is needed to make them work, to everyone who has responded thanks! My car 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass supreme convertible with A/C

I saw some in the Classified section in Parts For Sale ~1 week ago. I don't recall what they were called when they were listed. I believe they were for a Cutlass and IIRC they were of the 1968 - 1972 model years? I'll have a look but I'd take a look in the Parts For Sale Classifieds here on CO.

I found the other thread w/ pictures but unfortunately they were sold. I also found the following (which may be what I was thinking of), but they're the vents and not the ducts.

I'd suggest you place an ad in the Parts Wanted Classified section - I have a fairly good feeling one of the vendor members may have what you're seeking. Good luck!

No worries. Seriously, put an ad in the Parts Wanted section - probably a good chance one of the guys has some or can dig up a set. Good luck.

Send a PM to Ros6872 or 442crzy to see what they might have. These guys post frequently and seem to have alot of used parts for our beloved cars.

akspeedy:
Come to think of it, I may have the passenger side duct. I'll try to get over to my storage unit and see what I have!

A few years ago I posted that I wrapped mine with duct tape to keep the brittle hoses together. Several folks responded that there is a cloth tape that works better, but I don’t remember what it’s called. Hopefully someone who knows will post.

They want $135 for the DS flex, holy crow, I sold a set a while back for $50, Try Tim Murphy, he got me a set, 859-757-7334. I have bought a lot of parts from him. He is a really great guy to deal and extremely fair on his pricing.
