69 cutlass side mirror removal

69 cutlass side mirror removal
1969 cutlass supreme driver side mirror. Cant figure out how to remove it. Door panel is off. It looks like it may remove from the outside as the inside looks to have a rivet? Thanks

There should be a button head socket screw that you access from outside of door (on either side of the mirror. Loosen the two screws, using an allen key, and slide rearward/ then lift to remove the mirror from the door.

Keep in mind that if mirror has never been off loosening these screws may be tough as they're steel and the mirror is potmetal. A T-handle allen wrench makes it easier.
Also remember that to loosen them, as you're facing the car looking at them you will need to turn them CLOCKWISE.
Loosen them only enough to slide the mirror out of the keyhole slots, otherwise you'll have to fish the screw out of the door innards.
