Addinga remote mirror to a non remote mirror car

My car came with just the single chrome mirror on the driver side only and i picked up a pair of the sport mirrors and i am looking to install them. the driver mirror is a remote mirror and i have no clue where to mount the bracket in the door that the cables go through that the bezel mounts to on the door panel. help would be very greatly appreciated. thanks.

i can get the mirror on the car, but there is a bracket about 5-6 inches long that the bezel for the **** that operates the mirror goes through on the interior thats the part that shows but i dont know where the bracket mounts. if it mounts to the inside of the door or to the door panel it looks like a rectangle with a slightly larger square on the end of it im sorry i have no pictures, and im probably doing a crappy job explaining

Original poster's user profile indicated he has a 72 cutlass "s"; perhaps someone with a similar car can provide measurements.
