correct location of ignition coil
i'm replacing my ignition coil and was looking in the 1969 service manual sec 12 page 49...it shows the positive coil terminal on the left side of car, now my old one has the pos. terminal on the pass side...what is correct?

Ok here is why i want to know...if the negative is on the right as i am facing it(left side of car) then the delco remy is readable....if the positive terminal is on the left the delco remy is upside down BUT the embossed 238 b-r is readable and on top the embossed number would be on the bottom of the coil with the neg post on the left

I don't know if this is relevant or not - different engines and different assembly plants - but here's how the coil is mounted in my '69 Fremont 4-4-2. I don't have any reason to believe it has ever been removed and re-installed - it's pretty crusty under the hood. The (-) terminal is inboard.
