On top of the steering column, near the firewall.

By dropping the column:
  • Remove the dash panel under the column.
  • Remove the two nuts that hold the column to the dashboard.
  • Let the steering wheel rest on the seat.
  • If you need more room, you can remove the plate on the firewall that holds the column.

According to the compatibility chart on that ebay ad it is.

NONE of us here are going to say Buy it simply because we let you make your own decision on this. That switch is prolly designed for the original wiring harness that you took out. It might work, but you'd have to ask the seller and tell him what your replacement harness is to get a better answer.

I have the gm ignition switch connectors and terminals for the wiring. Ebay can be a sketchy place but atleast from the picture it looks like the prongs match up with my connectors..

So, does it fit ok? I wouldn't worry about being wrong a few times. It's not like Eric or I EVER make mistakes...

You'd be surprised how much stuff you can get local. I was. NAPA has been really good to me. We don't have O'Reillys up here but we have the equivalent of Autozone.

They have a great on line web page too. You can source out your choice of parts on line before even using gas to go see them. The page will tell you whether its in stock.

AHAHAH knock on wood buddy...Could you imagine? Haha Its okay, ive just been using clips to connect everything. That way when the motor gose in and the harness gets power. If i find out i wired something wrong i can undo it, once everythings working perfect ill solder it all up legit.

And yeah there site is nice, ive used it alot, its always been right about what they got in stock too (atleast for me it has). So nice to just walk in with a part number and leave with what you came for.
