1969 Hurst Olds Prototype for Sale

Does anyone have $825,000 (or best offer) to spare? Or Jay Leno's phone number perhaps? The 1969 H/O Prototype just went on sale on E-Bay. This car was just featured in Hemmings Muscle Machines a few months back.

I won't be bidding, I still think the 79's are priceless

69 H/O Convertible

Priceless. Only 3 were made, 2 exist, I saw one of them at the Olds Nationals in Colorado 2001, haven't seen one since. Glad I took a photo of it, I will probably never see one again. One might have been at the Cincinnati Olds Nationals in 2003 but I can't remember.

Besides the car which the originality has been destroyed the only thing worth the money is the story. And the story is not worth that much over a run of the mill 69 H/O.
The seller would need the original parts that make the car special to make this car worth that kind of money.

I agree, the restoration should've included details on the car that made it different from a production unit.

My 2 cents.

How is this car in its' current state worth 10X a regular production HO in the same condition?

Answer....It's not.

the problem with the price is the engine/trans do not match if they did then the price is inline with other ultra rare prototype cars

If I remember from the article, it had a very unique rear spoiler, and was originally equipped with a 517 c.i. motor which is gone.

I agree with the rest. The cars been modified so much. Now if it looked like it did and had all the original parts that would be different.

"Used
Gas gauge does not work”
=====================
Yeah, too much hassle to fix that, for a lousy $825 grand.
oy vey.

Does not have the 405233 intake. [yeah, proto...] [still, 825k $$$]
Why would you NOT reproduce the elephant tusk spoiler. The one it bears is only "sort of unique" :-)

How nice that it still exists, though!

Chris, that car was built in October of 68. Those intakes weren't around then.
