Old Carb Vaccum lines???

Ok, I got a spacer that didnt take up too much room and a carb that I already had and put it on a 1962 Olds 98 with some mods. on the throttle linkage.. The car runs awsome...Drove it for a 30 mile drive and was amazed...But what are the vaccum lines that come off the fuel pump and side of the manifold for>>>>> I just have them plugged off. But the car runs great...perfomance is great too. Are these lines somethin that I need to hook up???? I also added Pictures in my album of the new carb.

Twinkie, you need to watch how you mess with that throttle linkage. The Slim Jim is dependent on correct TVR (throttle valve rod) adjustment to work properly. Best case if it's off adjustment is it won't shift right, worst case is you burn up the transmission, and believe me you do not want to deal with that. If the trans is shifting smoothly and at proper shift points, you may have gotten lucky and nailed it first try.

The vacuum line on the fuel pump operates the heat and A/C controls. I'm guessing the other one is for vacuum trunk release- see if it goes to a vacuum ball or can on the firewall somewhere.
