Carb identification
Thanks.
Does that include Toros ?
I have had this carb for over 35 years stored in it's original carb box. It looks as if it was never used, at least I never mounted it.
If it was original shouldn't it have the gold colored plating ?

What's the date stamped on the base plate? There were a lot of 69 service replacement carbs that were manufactured in the 70's. I had a 7029253 that had a 75 date code
Some of the '69 "7029251 RJ"carbs simply did not have any kind of date code. I have both a '68 4-4-2 and a '69 4-4-2 and have inspected several carbs for both years. All of the '68 carbs I saw had date codes stamped into the base plate. I never saw a date code stamped into the base plate on a '69. There were some '69 carbs that had date codes with abbreviated carb numbers ("29251 RJ") stamped into the normal positions but that's it.

Rick,
To answer your question, the 7029251 RJ carb was used on the 1969 4-4-2 model with automatic transmission (except for the W-30 and W-32) as well as on all '69 Hurst/Olds. That looks like a pretty darn nice carburetor that you have! I'm not sure about the gold-colored plating or if it was ever there...maybe it just faded away over the years?!

Thanks guys and thank you Randy for the info.
I own a 70 W30 and I am not that good with the numbers of other years. I will take a closer look and post pics of entire carb for closer inspection from those who may know more than me.
Thanks again

I don't know, Randy. It's hard to tell from that one photo, but it almost looks like the carb was painted when it was rebuilt.
