1969 cutlass splash shield installation advice
The old splash shields were installed with staples and the reproductions shields I have also came with staples but Im not sure how to attach the shields to the fenders since I dont have the proper staple gun. I wasnt able to pull much info off the forum regarding this. How are the rest of you guys attaching them to the fenders. Thanks!

You don't need a staple gun. You can use the old shields as a template to locate holes in the new ones with an awl. Then line up the shields insert the staples and bend the lgs over with a pliers, tap flat with a hammer.

The factory usually did a crappy job with the staple placements, something I didn't like. I used a very small diameter drill bit and drilled the splash shield and inner liner in place to match the new staples. Then insert staples and flatten with hammer and dolly. I did mine when the liners were out of the car, same as doing the air dam.

Thanks for the replys, I have done the rivet method, yes it was tedious but I really never liked how it looked but that was on a mostly "correct" camaro, this car has much custom done to it so correct is not as importent this time, I was hoping there was an easy way to attach them but no project is ever easy!!
