I picked up this 68/9 lower stone shield (maybe its called something else, but its the it this plastic piece that bolts under the core support) the other week.
It has these wings on the side that are obviously factory, but Ive never seen before. The seller said this was standard and bolts to the inner fender. But I don't see them in the assembly manual for my 442 and I don't really cant imagine where they would bolt up. The car is away for paint, so I cant hold it up to look where they might fit either...
Is this for a big car? Delta 88 maybe with that wavy front bumper???
They are shown in the 68 Assembly Manual in the upper right corner, below. They were omitted on W30's and W31's because they conflicted with the scoops. They're usually missing because almost every one of them get the outboard mounting holes torn out and there isn't any good way to mount them once that happens
The highlighted part is rubber. It tucks up on top of the bumper. That outer hole on the wing is rather fragile. I used rubber coated washers on both sides of the plastic wings(sandwiched). My bud used plastic washers. I used a longer bolt and backed it with a nut so I could control the torque on the plastic.
