I disagree. I think it's the 72 (non-manual transmission) 455 intake. In any case it was never installed on a 4 speed car as the manifold isn't drilled for the PCV nipple.
407567 was the 1970-72 4 speed manual intake (non W-30).

SUPERCARS UNLIMITED "BY THE NUMBERS" shows:
1972 455 4bbl MT (exc. W30) cast iron - casting number 407567 / 410448
"the Good Olds Days" shows:
1972 455 MT casting number 410448 "U"

&

"HOLLANDER" shows:
1972 455 AT w/o OAI casting number 410448

I guess I should've pulled out the biggest book first

Sorry, not manual trans, it's automatic. Both the AT and MT manifolds started with the same 410448 CASTING number. The MT intakes have a secondary machining process to drill the boss behind the water crossover and press in the nipple for the PCV valve. They then got a different PART number, but the same casting number. Note that the intake in the first post does NOT have the nipple.

A correct MT intake looks like this. The 1970-72 442 4speed cars used the same dual ventilation PCV system as the W-30 cars.

Anybody ever figure out why Olds did this? Anybody have pics of a non ram-air 70-72 m/t air cleaner or engine bay? I have yet to see one, thanks.

Wow! Endless info and many options, that is what I love about this forum, not to mention the storehouse of knowledge. So I suppose I will have to upgrade the fittings on this unit if I want to run it with my M21 4speed. Maybe I should look for a good replacement(aluminum) to sweeten the power add ons. Thanks to all responders.

You don't have to have the added pcv if your not interested in being factory. correct.. If you want to go that route the intake can be drilled and the nipple pressed in. It is reproduced. I would take the Intake to a machine shop to get it drilled unless you have the ability to clamp the intake in a drill press. You don't want to drill it over size.
