Question about carb numbers in 1967. Some were on discs, some stamped in the body
Why do some 1967 carbs have the metal disc with the application number, while others have the numbers stamped like later years? Was this just a transition year so both were used?
I have two carbs, both im sure originals from 67 442's. It seems i read somewhere the green disc is early, and the stamped number came later.
I may be completely wrong, maybe someone with more knowledge will chime in.

You are correct. The first couple of years of Qjet production used the disc. By 1968 Rochester transitioned to the number stamped on the carb body. 66-67 carbs with the stamped number are usually service carbs, not OEM.
