Quadrajet Carb ID help

Numbers on my carb are 17063425. Should I have it rebuilt, scrap it or buy a new carb?

17063425 sounds like the plastic choke part number.

The carb number is on the driver's side going vertically, and there are numbers and letters.

Like the last post said, that is not the carb number, must be some part number. That number does not come up, in any off my books.

Your Rochester carburetor should have a number stamped vertically into the body of the carb on the driver side. That's the number you need to let us know before it can be deciphered. Are you sure the "6" is really a "6", or is it an "8"?

Rochester started stamping carburetors with 170 in 1976. Looks like you have a Rochester carb from 1988, specifically Feb of 1988 (0418). And it might be for a Chevy engine (not entirely sure)

170881 15 0418

1708 - indicates decade produced = 1980
8 - year = 1988
1 - model = 2 jet or 2bbl
1 - division of GM = Chevy
5 - transmission = automatic

I used this site to decipher http://y2camaro.com/spec/Decode_your...Carburetor.htm

Thanks for the help. Think I will just scrap it.
