Question looking for Rochester quadrajet 4GC carb linkage diagram

Hi,

We have a 1955 Olds 98, that we are redoing the engine and putting a Rochester quadrajet 4gc carb on. We got the car a few years ago and it had a holley carb on it, never ran quite right. So, we're putting the carb that goes on it back on it, but we are not sure about the linkage as it was modified for the holley carb. Anyone know where we could get a diagram or pics of where the linkage hooks up?

Thanks,
Sandy

Hi Sandy. I suggest you purchase a Factory Service Manual for your car. I know it sounds like a "no-brainer." However, these books are invaluable for a person restoring an older vehicle. In fact, I would say that they are essential.

My Holley is much easier to ''make right'' than my quadrajet in my opinion.
You're already going to have a headache rebuilding a quadrajet. Then another one messing with the linkages. You could buy some simple parts and fine tune the holley more easily. Just a thought. Q-jets are great carbs as well, I'm just trying to save you a few hours/dollars.

if it's an original carb. from that year it's not a quadrajet it's a 4gc or 4gv.
the 4g series was much more of a squarebore carb; the quadrajet is a spreadbore, which was introduced in 1965.
