Installing air conditioning....HELP!!!

Hey guys, my 71 Cutlass didnt come equipped with factory air. With this heat, I now want some air! Can someone please list where I can find a complete system (salvage yard, yearone, etc) and also what parts are needed. I'm not really a newbie, but I'm also not a car expert. All information is good information.

Be aware that the installation of a factory A/C system requires a LOT of disassembly on the car. You need to completely remove the dash and the front fender on the passenger side. The cutouts in the firewall are different from those on a heater-only car. The heater box changes. The kick panels change. The brackets, pulleys, and water pump change.

Unless you really want the stock look, consider an aftermarket system like Vintage Air.

I have the compressor and brackets from a 69' if you're interested, but I'm going to say aftermarket is a better way to go.
