Having trouble...

Okay friends I need help. I have a 1971 cutlass supreme with a 350 engine. The alternator belt keep popping. I dont have the belts to tight either. If the pulleys need to be realigned, what is the cost associated with that?

Welcome!
First of all what kind of car are you having problems with?
Has it had any mods done to it?
Did this issue start on its own or after a repair or mod?

If the belt is tight, then belt to pulley alignment is the problem.
Is the steering pump pully secure on its shaft? Perhaps remove the problem belt and check for loose pulleys or shafts.

Sometimes it is not as tight as you think it is. hitch it up another notch. If not then John is most likley correct. Also bent or dented pullies will cause belts to jump as well

Welcome to our humble home.

Need pics as usual.
Are all the brackets and the pump and alternator in the correct position with the right spacers and all that?

Could be a belt alignment problem like Beauregard said?
