Front upper control shims

Does anyone know what the factory settings we're for the shimming on the front upper control arms for a 1965 Starfire? I can't find the amount of shims needed in my 65 chassis service manual and I'm getting ready to start putting my front end together. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Shim amounts are determined by a front end alignment.

There's no factory setting or just take to an alignment shop when it's done?

I would put enough shims in to get the camber close, adjust toe so that the fronts of the tires are in 1/16-1/8" over the rears, and then take it to an alignment shop that knows older cars. Not a franchise shop like Sears, Pepboys, or Meinecki.

I bought the Longacre tool for setting camber and caster, and use a tape measure and straight boards to set toe-in. Alignment could be pretty far off if you just wing it, making the handling very bad. Collect some shims, clean and paint them. Having a variety of them is well worthwhile.
