Dual Gate ID

I got a bunch of parts out of an estate and the thing i cant figure out is what this dual gate application is for..it looks like 68-9 H/O to me... but the mount brackets dont seem right..any ideas? I want to ID it then offer it for sale...i am just unsure..it has the 67 GTO style top plate...an Oldsmobile shift arm..but there a bunch of details i dont recognize..it has what appears to be a GM style neutral switch etc...

Looks like '68 H/O dual gate. Brackets could have been modified for other application.

Appears to be either early H/O or Yenko. Pontiac units typically used a straight stick, not the "dogleg" stick.

thanks Brett..and Tim and Joe...mine doesnt have the burl wood applique i really thought it was a H/O..

the brackets appear to be a manufactured part..not something someone made up..its too clean and machine made..

i looked at 68 brackets and they hang off on the drivers side more than these....i was thinking 68-9 but then my mind wandered and thought later...this thing is tall..and thats why i thought the 68-9..

STUPID question..does 68-9 use the same shifter and mini-console...i dont remeber right now

i have 67 GTO and a 68 GTO and a 70 cutlass...but this thing is tall..those are shorter..

OR;;is it an aftermarket piece for some other console app? i am just unsure..ive never seen those mount brkts

68 and 69 H/O consoles are the same other than top plate. 68 is straight grain, 69 is burl. As Joe said it could be Yenko brackets. GTO DG looks similar but definitely different.

Yenko cars used the same mini-console as the 68-69 H/O.

i am still leery to call it camaro..but hey..i guess it is..i was hoping Cutlass..

thanks for all the help and pics

Some mid to late '70s Camaros used (probably aftermarket) dual gate shifters. I found one in a yard a long time ago. Just the top plate was there, shifter was gone. Your original pictures are not showing up now?

pics are not currently showing, but

HURST sold Dual-Gate shifters thru the aftermarket with different brackets for just about every mid/late '60s performance oriented automobile.

The Dual-Gate & console that made its way into '68-'69 H/Os, Yenkos, '68 Super Stock Darts & Barracudas is this same "bent-lever" aftermarket version with body specific brackets, shift cable & "trim-to-fit" consolette (Olds & HURST just got a little fancy with the burled wood insert on the top plate for the '69 H/O).

IIRC Dual-Gate II came out for and is what was used in the '70 & newer 442, aftermarket & others.

Are there any numbers on the brackets?

I have a NOS unit here - the top plate is (intentionally) missing the step between Reverse & Neutral.
&
The brackets are pretty tall and are just a little off for '68-'69 H/O (GM a-body) front #s 5717 & 5716 rear # 5718

I guess the brackets on my Dual Gate are for '66-'67 MOPAR b-body. I wonder if these instructions are from '67 and/or if there are different brackets for '68-'70?
