make sure you have it in natural wiggle the shifter as the key is turned to the start position . Make sure the batterie is charged . You can get new batterie leeds or replace the ends depending what you mean broke??? make sure the ground is good and tight on the block itself . If you have run the batterie down a few time's it might have just gave up on you. If it is not charging you should have a external regulator on the firewall ( small square black box with wires going to it) That do go bad from time to time and will not charge your car up Hope this helps. and GOOD luck

So what happens when you turn the key to start? Idiot lights go out? Any kind of noise? If you have the lights turned on and try to start, do the lights go dim or out?
Knowing details like this will better help us to help ya.

Where is the nagative cable broke at? That could be getting worse and causing a problem, too.

Ground is just as important as the positive. I vote on finding a fixing that negative cable.

X2 on this you need all of the grounds connected correctly not just the cable from the battery to the engine block but also the bonding strap from the engine to the body.
