cutlass door cap stainless
I need these removed to do a proper blast and resto on the car. Can I just remove the vent window to get at the screws or does the door glass all have to come out?
That would be fairly sucky.

Small Phillips head screws on the inside through the "fuzzie" window sweep, on my Holiday coupe, or 2 door hardtop whatever it's called. Best I remember that was all that held it on, no hidden fasteners on the 66.
Looks like aluminum to me, my 66 is, stainless was found on convertibles some years.
What car is this?
Good luck,

You're right - probably is aluminium. It's my 64 coupe. I see all of the visible screws under the fuzzies - I just didn't know if there were any behind the vent window that I need to get at. I'd rather not have to pull the glass but I just might anyway. (heavy sigh...)

Could you maybe just take the bottom stops off and allow the window to go down far enough to get at the screws? Or unbolt the glass and drop it down but leave it in the door?
The blue 66 was all apart when it was painted so the glass was out. Like the chicken and the egg, I don't remember which came off first, it was 18 years ago.
Does coupe mean 2 door hardtop, which is easy to remove the glass, or 2 door sedan which is harder to remove the glass?

The car is a hard top, no post. I can get at most of them without issue - just don't know what's behind the vent window. I have a '65 manual - it's likely the same. I'll look it up.

I'm pretty sure there is nothing hidden, when the screws are out you can take it off. The fuzzy is attached to the trim and not attached to anything else.
