Convertible top tear repair

Just noticed a small tear on the right rear side of the top of my 72 Cutlass ragtop. It's near the top of the right rear side panel and does not ride over any frame parts. Any repair kits out there that are worth the money until I get a pro to work it over?

I got a small tear in the top on my 54 when one of the rods came off when I was putting the top down. The tear was about an inch long. I went back to the trim shop and they took some top fabric and used contact cement and glued it on the back side of the top. It is under one of the pad so it does not show. It is a cloth top and I have touched it up with white paint.

I repaired a small tear on my top about where a coat hanger hook would be on a "regular" car. I used a small piece of vinyl fabric that goes on top of the windshield frame, cut it in a circle so there weren't any pointy edges or corners, and glued it on with 3M Super Weatherstrip Adhesive (black top, black patch, black adhesive). It held up fine for well over 10 years.
