Locate the pump in the trunk behind the back seat. Remove the rubber plug in the end of the reservoir. Fill.

A turkey baster works for filling the pump. I would buy a new one, using your wife's out of the kitchen could get you into a little trouble.

Or a ketchup/ mustard bottle as found at your local diner with a 2 foot length of 1/4" clear plastic tubing and a bunch of towels stuffed around the motor area so when you over fill it you won't make a mess.(don't ask me how I know).... Tedd

Good tips there Tedd. It is a messy job. I don't think anybody mentioned to use ATF to fill the pump. DO NOT use brake fluid since it will eat paint if it gets on it.

And if it has brake fluid in it now you gotta get it all out before you add ATF. I doubt that they were using brake fluid as late as 71 but check it out or you will have a mess on your hands.... Tedd

Thanks for the info, guys. I knew about the turkey baster and using ATF, I just didn't know where the fluid went in. And I'll be sure to buy a new one! Don't want to be sleeping in the garage with my car.

I dunno, if I ever finish my seats, I might do just that.

When I reupholstered my interior I found my left cylinder was leaking all over on the floor. One thing led to another and next thing you know another project! Anyway if it just got low you may want to check out why before you have a big mess.
