Looking to replace the "pad" and "sleeve" on the A/T column shift lever with tilt wheel from a '71 to the correct fluted sleeve and pad for '70 Supreme. I have new OE pad and sleeve correct for '70. How does the "insert" (see diagram) come off the shift lever? Is it press fit or threaded? Can I re-use the insert? The sleeve for '70 is about 3/8" shorter than the sleeve for '71.
