Hello Oldsmobile Forum, I have a broken "Hold-Open" lever (part name according to the GM Olds shop manual) on my 64 Cutlass driver door.
The two halves are still attached but the heavy duty 1" spring is missing.
Wondering is anyone has one of these levers for sale, perhaps from a parts car, or knows if this Hold-Open lever is available anywhere.
Also are these levers generic for the GM A-body cars of that era or Olds Cutlass specific?
Any insights or advice on installation greatly appreciated.

If I'm picturing this correctly I believe this is part of the door hinge. If that's wrong, would you be able to share a photo of the part you need?

 

You are correct John. It is part of the lower door hinge. These hinges are common across all 1964-65 A-body cars, so repros are available everywhere.

 

By the way, the spring itself is also available from the Chevelle repro houses.
