Junk Yard Dogs

Junk Yard Dogs
I have been wanting to start a thread for sometime now where everyone can share their pics of Junk Yard finds. These can include cars in yards, cars in barns, cars behind sheds etc. I had heard about a junkyard in Middlesex NC with some old cars and I stopped in to take a look. Here are a couple pics of cars there. There have been some other posts recently with great pics of Junkyard Dogs. My hope is we can consolidate all the pics in one post and keep adding to the collection. How many other Dogs are out there..........

I started a similar post on having a Junkyard Jewels section...so members can see parts cars in other areas.....www.V8Buick.com has one it works great...maybe someone knows the moderator/owner here and they can add that as a permanent section here.

I'm betting it's a fake. No scoops, stripe on the hood, black? inner fenders, fender stripe is crowding the wheel well

Heres a couple of cars from a local yard. I've got pics of a 72 442, a 69 cutlass and a 70 supreme that are in the same yard too. I'll post those if I can find them.

Not sure if that was a real deal or not. I tried to open the hood to check the cowl tag but the hinges were frozen and I was scared I would damage it. It was an auto a/c car so I have my doubts on it being a W30. Engine was still in the car and it had not been picked. This Old Girl would have taken a lot of work to bring back from the brink... None of the cars in this section of the yard had been picked so I am pretty sure they could be bought whole but not for parts.

Thanks,
I took it in early May. Had I went there two weeks later I wouldn't have even seen it through the leaves. It was a truck with a old style cloth sunroof, long gone.
It was really interesting place. There were a bunch of old Nash's. Nothing rare or desirable just a lot of them. There were hundreds of cars there. I heard about it from a guy at work. Truth be told, we were trespassing. We got there around 5:30 in the morning and were gone by 7:00 AM. It was a 1/2 mile walk into the place. All in the woods, no fields. The cars were spread out all over the place. Only the Nash's were in one place. There was a completely restored Model A in pieces in a 40 ft box trailer. I don't think I could find the place again, probably a good thing.

And some more. We have plans to get a lot of these back on the road. So far in the past year we have gotten a 51 Chev Sedan delivery and a 61 Chev SWB truck going. We are currently working on the 53 Chev convertible above...

This is a paradise. You could put a sign by the road and charge admission. People would come from miles around!

Come on down. My wife had the crazy idea of moving to the Mooresville NC area 9 years ago. We spent a few weeks touring the state and I just could not fathom moving there. We stumbled across Granbury, Tx purely by accident and it was a great decision to move here.

Well here are these two which I found in junk yard out of town.. I was thinking to rebuild these cars, but currently I just selected them. Here are the shots.. I hope you like my choice.
