What to do with the Old Original Pistons?
So, I have a 1969 Matching Numbers 442. I recently had the 400 engine rebuilt replacing all internal parts minus crankshaft. I'm wondering if I should hold on to the old Pistons or would they be worth selling? Any ideas would be helpful
If they are in good shape and STD, sometime someone needs just one or two, to replace a couple bad ones. Not worth much but when that person that only needs a couple and does not want to buy a hole set, it helps him. If in bad shape, scrap steel
You could still keep them. I don't know if used pistons are valuable now, in 20 years they may be. Or, you could melt them down and use the aluminum to fill the exhaust crossover in your Oldsmobile and a few others. I don't know how far 1 piston of aluminum goes.
