North Texas Olds Club Zone meeting and car show

Inviting anyone in the general area to come on down to Waxahachie Texas this Saturday starting about 10 AM. The location is Singleton Plaza Park, 232 N. Rogers Street, Waxahachie Texas. Should be lots of fun and we hope to represent well. See ya'll there.

Thanks Dan for posting this. As of the weekend we had 21 cars registered. We will pickup several more this week. It is going to be a good time.

Oh yes, I am looking forward to it. The weather will be mild, the location is shaded, restaurants are close including food, beer, liquor and wine. Plus you are only about two blocks from a really nice example of late 1800's town square/county courthouse architecture.

I always enjoyed the NTOC zone show when I lived closer.

I’ll be loitering the parking lot on Saturday morning, my probation officer mandated that I arrive/attend work on Friday. Best wishes to everyone in early attendance to start as many rumors and tell as many lies as possible to warm the field up before my arrival!

Heath, glad you are going to make it. You bringing the 41. Eric it was always good having you. I remember our having it in Granbury when you lived there. Maybe one day you will make your way back down. Brayn and Angie are going to be there.

Here I thought I was rising early at 4:43 with a foot cramp that would not go away, got a cup of black energy and came to the website. Wow, you are an early riser for sure. I am bringing the banana boat.

Not for a day trip. I’m actually in the process of possibly selling the ‘40 coupe to go to Europe…maybe..🥹

Dan, we enjoyed the visit with you and it was a pleasure meeting your wife. Thanks for posting all these pictures. We could have used a little less wind but other than that it was a really good show.

Heath, it was good to see you there and wished we could have made more time to talk. I am really sorry about that. You seem really appreciate the old school hot rod aspect of our hobby. I did have some questions about that car but never got to inquiring about it. Those two carbs look to be older Rochester models and must be a lot for that 394 unless it has a lot of internal modification but they really look good on the car don't they? Glenn it was a joy to see your car in person, as I commented to you not enough people appreciate the Colonnade style Cutlasses and that one is a beauty. On the way to the Payton's for dinner I was following Gene in his '68 down 35 and wondered on the treat lots of people got seeing two over fifty year old cars driving down the highway together. I doubt less than 4 or 5 knew they were Oldsmobile much less were able to identify specifically what they were. We are in an exclusive club ya'll not many of us out there any more.

Thanks for posting the pics. Those are beautiful machines.

I didn't see your Vista in the pics, did you drive it to the car show?

Dan, I think those are Edelbrocks on the 394 and I am pretty sure Bill told me it has a cam also. I am not sure what else has been done to it other than installing a Turbo 400.
I was two cars behind you and Gene when you were coming down Hwy 77. Thanks for the compliments on my car. I don't know if I told you or not but Bryan Lacy bought the car in Wisconsin and trailered it back to Oklahoma. He still had a picture on his phone of it on the trailer in 2011. He then sold it to another member who restored it and I bought it from him a year ago.

Thanks Dan, I appreciate your enthusiasm and I’m absolutely certain that we’ll cross paths again with our proximity and mutual interest in Olds’. Take care and keep on moving forward with your Vista to make it bring joy into your day.😊

You drove it up.. I just showed up…, (so easy) It was the only wagon on the field…. I brought my flattop to Denver Nationals in ‘01 with tired paint, worn out interior and a front fender bungeed to the body at the bottom following a catastrophic blowout. Regardless, I was just happy to be there, and I remember the experience like it was yesterday!😄. I was grateful to get to visit and see your car. Own it, don’t be ashamed of it if you’re proud to drive it.
