Steering box upgraded, rag joint ground missing now no horn

I recently upgraded to the quicker ratio steering box and new rag joint - it feels and drives great, however little did I know the rag joint has a ground strap for the horn - apparently the shop didn’t know either.

Is there a way to retrofit one? Whats the answer to get my horn going again - it worked prior to the new box install, I’m betting it’s the lack of a rag joint ground, thanks for any advice.

Here's a universal ground strap. You can probably find them in different lengths:

Amazon Amazon

To test your horn use alligator clips and run 12V and Ground to it from the battery. If this works you know your horn is missing ground. You could also use your multimeter and test for continuity between the negative battery post and the black wire going to the horn.

I had to do this with the new rag joint for my 67. A short piece of wire and two ring fittings. Took longer to write this than to cobble that up.

Thanks guys. I wasn’t sure it could be that easy of a fix, ground straps are ground straps

Just be sure that you position it so you are electrically connecting the steering shaft flange to the box flange.
