Pax side mirror

Can someone please post a pic of an original dealer installed passenger side mirror for a 69 442. I do have an original remote mirror on the drivers side. I see several for sale on the various vender sites. I want to find one the most closely matches an original
I have elected to post this new rather than re opening my old post on the same subject.
Thanks

It doesn't exist. The only mirrors available for the passenger side in 68-69 were the small manual ones

I understand that there wasn’t a Factory installed pax side mirror but I also believe that there was a Dealer installed option for a Passenger side mirror. That’s what I would like a picture of, or a pic of the mirror that some of you have used with the factory remote mirror. Sorry if I didn’t make myself clear

Yes, the dealer installed passenger side mirror looks exactly like the manual driver side mirror for the 68-69 Oldsmobile A-body. There is no match on the passenger side for a driver side remote control mirror.

It is possible that one could have a remote control mirror from the assembly plant on the driver side and a dealer-installed non-remote mirror on the passenger side. I believe there are some members on this site whose 68-69 Olds A-body cars are that way.

Here's a few shots. The mounting holes are exactly the same as on the driver side for either the manual or remote mirrors.

My passenger side mirror is a re-pop from Fusick and it's as good as original as far as I am concerned. I didn't have one on the passenger side before restoration and, since I was "maxing out" options and accessories on the 69, I decided to install one. The original driver side mirror was a remote control and I struggled with whether to install it or install a driver side manual mirror. I went with the manual mirror just so the two would match.

In placing the mirror on the passenger side, I simply used the same measurements as for the mirror on the driver door. It seems to work fine for me. The thing I find odd about these side mirrors is that (compared to today's cars) their field of vision isn't that great.

In discussing this issue on other posts at this site, it was determined that there is no option code for the passenger side mirror, that it is indeed a dealer accessory as shown in one of the advertisement booklets that originally came with the car. The discussion concluded that a car could have been ordered from the factory with a remote driver side mirror and an accessory passenger side mirror (which is manual) could have been installed at the dealership. The two side mirrors definitely do not match but there were a couple of people who spoke up indicating that their car came that way from as far back as they knew.

I still struggle with possibly re-installing my driver side remote mirror - I like the idea of the uniqueness of it (with a passenger side manual mirror that doesn't exactly match the driver side remote mirror) but I know that once I cut the holes in the door panel to make it work, there is no going back to the manual mirror!

The fit and finish of the Fusick mirror is good but the tension clip that holds the ball joint in place is terrible. I have Fusick mirrors on both sides and neither stays in position when I close the door. I've tried all the tricks.... Super glue, etc. Nothing worked

Thanks Randy I appreciate you posting your pics.
The pax mirror that you are using is most likely the one that I will order.

Mike , I had the same issue with the mirrors that I have on my 67 Camaro convertible. I went so far as to remove the glass mirror from the frame and "adjusted" the ball receptacle, then re glued the mirror back in the frame. Been close to 20 years now and it's still tight.
Thanks guys
Classic Olds once again answers my question

I haven't had any trouble with mine thus far. I bought them (both sides) in 2014.

I wrestled with putting one on mine also. My factory remote mirror is in beautiful shape & I didn't like the idea of having mis-matched mirrors but I couldn't stand not having a mirror on the pass. side. I saw this awesome '68 on ebay a few years ago & after seeing his pics I finally gave in & bought and installed the pass mirror. His car has the drivers remote. So far my Fusick mirror doesn't flop around after 3 yrs. Back in '80 when I was finishing up my first '68 442 resto I got rid of the LH remote & bought both manual mirrors right from Olds(they were like $25 a piece then!!) They wouldn't hold adjustment, you shut the door & they'd move!
