Can anyone provide a drawing or exact dimensions (or tell me where I can find) for mounting a pax side view mirror for a 69 442.
Your help will be greatly appreciated
Jerry
When I mounted the passenger side mirror on my '69 4-4-2, I used the same measurements for that mirror as were on the mounting holes for the driver side. It works as well as can be expected - these mirrors aren't exactly the best for seeing aft out of each side but they are better than nothing!
Thanks Randy
That's what I was gonna do if I can't get the actual drawing dimensions that the dealers used for installation of dealer install items.
Those are some very nice rides in your attached Thumbnails

Thank you, Jerry! There's a story behind them. The '68 my parents bought as a "brand new" demo in March 1969. I bought the '69 in February '87 as the '68 went to my sister and I wanted one as similar as I could get to hers. My sister ran into some hard times, though, and the '68 went back to my parents. I restored the '68 for my parents - finished in 2007 - and then my parents gave it to me! So that saddled me with two of them! I finished the '69 last summer - a nice restoration but not as thorough as the '68 (the '68 won best in class at the 2001 Reno Olds Nationals). I much prefer to drive the '69 over the '68 and the '69 is optioned so much better than the '68. Both real nice cars, though, and it's fun to show them together! Thanks again!
I thought this might be in the Fisher Body Manual but it isn't. Use Randy's suggestion of measuring and duplicating the RS mirror position off the LS one. You might also need some reinforcing under the new mirror (see this link) to keep it stable.
Randy or Allan (or anyone else)
Can either of you identify exactly what mirror that I have on my 69 442. It was installed either as original equipment or by one of the previous owners and I would like to find a matching mirror for the passenger side.
Any help finding what/where this mirror can be located will be appreciated
Jerry

That is the optional remote controlled outside mirror (option code D33) and it is the mirror on my '68 4-4-2. You should be able to adjust it using a toggle mounted on your driver side door panel. Alas, although the dealership accessory guide shows a passenger side mirror like that, they never made them so you won't find one. If you wanted a passenger outside mirror, you had to get the one that looks like the standard outside mirror for the driver side. My original thinking was, why would anyone want an outside mirrors on each side that don't match? But, that's the way it was back then and there are members on this site whose cars are that way and they would be "correct" in my mind.
I often thought about if these cars were sold in a right-hand drive country, if remote controlled outside mirrors were made for them! But my guess is the answer is no.

Reason: add more detail
Randy you just busted my bubble. I do have the D33 remote mirror on my 69 and was hoping to match it. Actually my wife wants a pax side mirror more than I do so she can do more of telling how to drive. I'll just let her know that if she wants a pax mirror, I'll have to buy 2.
Thanks for you info
Jerry
As Randy already said, the traditional RS mirror doesn't have the deep offset. Interestingly enough, not even the B and C body cars had right side mirrors from the factory unless option ordered by dealer or customer. The B and C body cars at least had matching styles of left and right mirrors.
There is another option for your 69, and that is the sport mirrors which match from side to side. They are a bit pricey and look like this:
I had the D33 option on my first 72 Cutlass S. My current one has been upgraded from the standard mirror to the more traditional sport ones. One thing I did different on the conversion is the RS mirror glass was replaced with the convex mirror to help with visibility.
Just noticed that Fusick catalogue has them for a bit less, plus it shows what the stock look for the right side mirror would look like (same as the standard 70-72 mirrors)
Jerry,
You can buy the passenger outside mirror (Fusick reproduces them) and install it. It just won't match the remote control driver side mirror, but that would still be considered "correct". There were cars like that. The buyer would order the remote control driver side mirror (D33) and then have the dealer install the "dealer accessory" passenger side non-remote mirror. If you buy a driver side standard mirror to match a passenger side "dealer accessory" mirror, and uninstall your D33 mirror, you'll end up with a hole in your driver door panel!
All I can help with is 67s. I've got a kit for the right side mirror in that year, but mine already had an aftermarket one there, so we will see if it calls for that same spot.
