Shortee Oil Filter Numbers?

Hi, anyone know the Numbers on any of the Short Oil Filters for the Olds 350-400-455. I've just added some headers and need some space to try and keep the oil from boiling! Thanks

This Fram is a shorty, somewhat, but the Phillips unit is taller but the diameter is smaller. Probably for a 307, not sure. I have run them on 455's, just to use them up. I have a few left. The Phillips Wix crossover # is S1045, Puralator PER123, Fram PH3429 and AC is PF 45. Hope this helps some.

Actually, the 307s take filters that are smaller in diameter but not shorter. One of the reasons I've stopped using AC filters (in addition to the reduced quality when production moved outside the US) is that they've replaced most of the standard size filters with short ones like the PF45. I'd rather have as much filter area as I can fit.

The short filter is AC PF24 and WIX/NAPA 1258.

FYI, my engine has headers and I use the larger WIX/NAPA 1049 filter. Never had any clearance issues or boiling oil.

Thanks everyone for your help and time here. What I have going here is with the standard oil filter, I am about an inch from Touching the Header. So what I was looking for was a short filter in Length not diameter.

Mine probably has an inch clearance as well and it has not caused any issues since I installed headers back in 1982.

Thanks, that good to hear. I change the oil every month as well so that should also help.

No particular reason. It's only $20.00 and In my opinion well worth it. It gets up in the 90's here 7-10 months out of the year. Breaks Down oil I would think rather easy.

I assure you, monthly oil changes are not necessary, oil does not break down in 30 days.

That really made me laugh. Summer temps get to 120ºF here and it's well over 100ºF for like 5 months and I use a regular oil change schedule. There's no need to change your oil that often.

So i have the AC PF24 and according to the good ole interweb, the WIX/NAPA 1258 is the same length. The AC PF 24 doesn't fit with my headers. Am i going to have to use a remote filter adapter?

At 4.3" tall, PF24 is not the shorty filter - it's the one that's been listed for stock Olds motors for years. PF46 (WIX 51042) is only 3.4" tall, but has the same threads and gasket as the PF24 and PF30.
