The pin on the small arm connect down in the transmission that is (or should be) installed in the cowl.
I mean it LOOKS like the small pin is still in yours.......

Thanks Rob for the photo. It is all very clear now. The small pin is still on mine because it was broke off. The remaining stud is too big to fit the arm and thats where the small piece there is what broke off. Now just need to find a replacement. Thanks so much for the photo. These details just keep on coming right down the the wire!

it has been a while since i looked at one but i don't think you can replace just one side. i think it is all riveted together to the rods and the other side. i think i have a nice used setup if you need one.

That would be great. They have new ones but I really like original stuff. Hope you can find it. And here I thought I finally knew everything about this car until Rob chimes in. Let me know so I can send some$$.

Yep, original stuff will fit without re-engineering it.

I just know how to take pictures. Sometimes that's all you need to see how it goes together. I would like to see the wiper tranny out of the car - have never seen how it hooks up.

it looks like the pin could be replaced if you can get the old one out. the pin is just pressed in. i don't think i have any junk transmissions that i could try it on. if you wanted this one i could do $40 shipped. all the ball and sockets are nice and tight and the wiper arm studs turn free with no slop.
