fuel line to carb connection leak

I've just had my 4 bbl 4GC carb rebuilt and I'm trying to re-attach the fuel line. I'm getting a huge fuel leak where the flared end of the steel line meets the carb.

Is there some sort of trick to this? I've tried teflon tape, didn't seem to help.

Teflon tape won't help here. You need to make sure the fuel line is properly seated against the carb fuel inlet. It's a double flare joint and makes a metal to metal seal.

Try loosening the pump end of the line and then tightening the carb end first. You may still have to tweak the steel line.

Also make sure the fuel inlet threads aren't stripped. I had to scrap the best running 4GC I ever had because those threads stripped and it was impossible to stop the fuel leak.

Also take a look at the flared end to make sure it is not damaged and the area it seats to...patience.
