Throttle cable to Carb connection

I have a 72 cutlass convertible with a 350 rocket. It came to me with a carter carb installed. The Throttle cable is attached to the Carb bellcrank with a clevis pin (constant shank diameter, no steps). It is a fairly loose fit. Is this normal?
The hole in the new carb (QFT Slayer) bellcrank is bigger than the hole in the throttle cable. about .500 inch versus about a .465 diameter pin.

Thanks in advance for your insights!

I can't say that I'm completely following your description. A photo would go a long way here. If you mean the pin is loose in the throttle arm on the carb, you should be using a stud that bolts to the throttle arm with a nut, something like this:

There are versions of this stud that include a sleeve to improve fitment in the carb arm hole.

Joe, thanks for the help! Mine always had the loose fit clevis pin which seemed a bit odd but worked... I now have a 200r4 transmission... to get the TV cable to do its job properly, I suspect I need to get the slop out of the throttle arm, throttle cable connection. Again, thanks for your help, it is EXACTLY what I needed!
